Nominations

 

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 event and will close on February 16, 2026.

Any individual, team, or organization from Greater Victoria, or with a connection to this region, can be nominated for a Greater Victoria Sports Award.

Please tell us why your nominee is deserving. Winners will be selected by the GVSA Nomination Committee, which reviews every nomination received.

Here are the annual award categories:

• High School Athlete of the Year
• College/University Athlete of the Year
• Master Athlete of the Year
• Alex Nelson ‘Ok’wilagame ’Indigenous Athlete of the Year
• Athlete of the Year
• Team of the Year
• Coach of the Year
• Event of the Year
• Pat Hall Volunteer Award
• John & Marilyn Bate Organization of the Year

Recognizing outstanding athletic achievement by all athletes. Each year, two awards are presented to the most deserving nominees in the first five categories, with the intent that recipients reflect gender diversity in sport.

Tickets: $80 plus tax

Destination Greater Victoria is honoured to be based on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
