Food waste and composting for businesses in the CRD

The Compost Education Centre (CEC) is a charitable non-profit based in Victoria, BC whose vision is to cultivate resilient communities, which support the land and all living beings to thrive.

To address our region’s interwoven challenges of climate change, food insecurity, and social disconnection, the CEC takes a place-based educational approach consisting of a unique focus on “hands-on regenerative soil practices (HORSPs),” a learning process that emphasizes equity access, and a reciprocal relationship with nature. HORSPs are activities that can be done at the individual level to restore soil and ecosystem health, address inequity, and leave our land, waters, and climate in better shape for future generations.
